Two weeks ago I promised new content only for technical problems to put a temporary stop to that. Well, thats the neccessary evil that is computers. However, just 10 years ago this kind of communication was in its infancy. These days winter swimmers are able to communicate with each other from many places around the world. Three days ago, here in the Czech Republic we swam down the Dyje river to Austria while some other winters wimmers from Prague navigated an amazing 5.1km in 2 hours down the Vltava river.
While the technical problems are being resolved here is a short clip from my 29minute film “Winter swimming” which has already been recommended by Strel swimming adventures and is available to buy right here on my homepage.

In your DVD Winter Swimming it says that you use 400 calories per minute – what’s the science behind that. Is it to do with the fact that you have to heat yourself up because you are losing so much heat into the water while you are swimming?
Look forward to your reply.
